Have a Good Real Estate Partner
If you’re beginning to think about selling your home the number one thing to start with is a good realtor partner. Your realtor will walk through your home and help you identify some of the things that you need to work on, and help eliminate things that won’t get you a good return on your investment. You want to make sure that you’re doing the things that are going to get you the best bang for your buck- the things that will help get your home sold faster and for more money. It’s never too early to start this conversation especially if you think your home might need some extra work!
Address Safety and Structural Concerns
Safety and structural concerns are items that will need to be fixed. Whether it’s roofing, water in a crawl space, or mold in an attic. Your realtor can help you find qualified vendors to do the work prior to listing your home or come up with a plan to address them that works for your timeline and budget. Our team has a whole list of preferred vendors that have helped our past clients! Some vendors even allow you to pay out of escrow so you don’t need the money up front.
Give Yourself a Workable Timeline
The last thing I will say is give yourself plenty of time to do these things. You can definitely sell a home that needs work, you will just need to plan ahead and make sure to discuss a competitive pricing strategy with your realtor. The best way to do that is to set up a quick consultation and walk through with our team so we can help you make a plan.
