Visit the International Rose Test Garden

Located in Washington Park the beautiful Rose Garden is free to visit and is filled with thousands of rose bushes of all different sizes and colors. Plus it boasts spectacular views of the city.

Head to the Portland Art Museum

With a collection of art from around the world plus rotating exhibitions there is always something new to see!

Take a hike in Forest Park

With more than 80 miles of trails to explore it will be awhile before you need to repeat the same hike twice in this 5,200 acre green space right in the middle of Portland. Check out our post on our favorite Forest Park and other close in hikes here!

Browse the stacks at Powells City of Books

A Portland icon and one of the largest independent bookstores in the world! Try not get lost as you browse through the millions of new and used books in stock. Buy a book (or three) and crack open your new read with a slice of pizza from Sizzle Pie across the street.

Enjoy a meal out!

Portland is a foodie city and a spring break or a trip here wouldn’t be complete without a night (or day) out enjoying some of the delicious food the city has to offer. From food trucks or counter service all the way to fine dining and everytwhere in between the hardest part won’t be finding good food it will be picking where to go! Check out the Oregon Zoo

Tucked at the bottom of Washington Park the Oregon Zoo is always a fun adventure for the whole family. See what’s on their event calendar or just stroll the park and take the thousands of species from Red Pandas to Penguins!

Take a bike ride along the river

It might be a little cliche but nothing quite like biking alongside the Willamette, wind in your hair and views of the city depending on the year you might even see some of the iconic cherry blossoms along the waterfront. But the Springwater corridor, the Eastbank Esplanade, and the waterfront are all great options. Bonus points for going over the Tilikum Crossing Pedestrian bridge!

Attend a Blazers or Timbers Game

Two awesome teams with stadiums located right in the middle of the city. The Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center just on the eastern side of the river and Timbers right in the middle of downtown! Perfect for a family night out, a group of friends, or a date night!

Go explore at OMSI

A Portland icon along the east side esplanade OMSI is a must visit for any Portland family. This interactive museum has hands exhibits for all ages plus a planetarium and IMAX theater!

Drink a beer

Second only to the food scene in Portland is the brewery scene. From IPAs to sours this city is a beer connoisseurs paradise.
